Visit of the Prime Minister of Iceland, Katrín Jakobsdóttir, to the EFTA Court

On 7 September 2023, the Icelandic Prime Minister Katrín Jakobsdóttir, accompanied by Ambassador Kristján Andri Stefánsson and her political advisers Auðunn Atlason and Lára Björg Björnsdóttir, paid an official visit to the EFTA Court. It was the first visit of the Icelandic Prime Minister to the Court. The visit started with the Prime Minister being welcomed by President Páll Hreinsson and Judges Bernd Hammermann and Michael Reiertsen. Following that, the President and Ólafur Jóhannes Einarsson, the Court’s Registrar, had a talk with the Prime Minister and her delegation about the operations of the Court and its importance for the functioning of the EEA Agreement, almost thirty years after its establishment in 1994.
